We had a Wonderful experience and we will miss the farm and the kind and dedicated farmers!

We are getting ready to return and are just filling out the surveys about the farm.

 We are sitting here waiting to return and writing in our journals some last thoughts.

Our Parents missed us and we missed them too!

The trip to Manhatten New York. This was a new experence for all four of us. We had never taken a trip to the city before and we were lucky enough to be able to have this experience. We took the train from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central Station stopping to take pictures. We spent most of our time in Times Square and walking around the city. We stopped for dinner and Starbucks and then headed back to Times Square to see the night lights. After our short trip we headed back to our cabin at the farm.

Forever 21 in Manhattan

Vassar College was a unique experience. The campus was historic and educational. This is the first of many colleges that we will visit.

Early early in the morning we go to work! This is the way we look with our boots caked with mud and the wonderful aroma of yesterday's work on us. We have become one of the wonderful farm hands at Sprout Creek Farm :)

This morning we got up and had to cook breakfast. Cooking is always a highlight for us. Chef Curtis allows us to create in the kitchen and gives us freedom in the kitchen. We made French toast and it was delicious!

There was a lesson on cows, along with a goat lesson by Amy D, and Katelyn.

Steve taught us how to make pinch pots, and we found it very relaxing and therapeutic.

Gabby and Margaret are pinch potting after a long hard day of chores. This was a good way to unwind.

Tonight a new baby goat was born!

Milking the goats and cows

We milked the cows and goats. They used a special suction machine to do so. This machine helps to milk the animals faster. It was troublesome to milk the cows because they had 4 teats and we only have two hands:) We did just fine though and helped each other. The goats were still awkward to milk, even though there were just two teats. The goats would lift their legs up and try to move around when we were attaching the machine to them. It was nerve-wracking at first, but once we got the hang of it, we had a good time

The baby goats are fed by a bucket of milk. It is important to "referee" them so each one gets a drink. The girls had a very fun time doing this. They're always so hungry!
